Where to begin? Or what have I started?

Twitter has changed a lot since I last used it during my formative and informative COVID-19 years. For one thing, it certainly isn't as convenient to hold copy-paste things as it was before. But it's also begun a new approach as to what I'm looking for. I'm now following more journalists, writers, researchers, and professors than I ever did in my previous Twitter account.

Before I truly dive in, I would like to clarify the reason for my Twitter identity being "Barbara Novak" is due to a highly enjoyable Renée Zellweger-Ewan McGregor 2000s romcom, and a permissible disinterest in using my real identity on an app like X.

After creating my tweets, which were mostly on various species I saw while scrolling, such as the water buffalo and the blue-footed booby, one revelation I encountered was how little I had previously stopped to think about different animals that might exist, much less the few I am even aware of.

I hope I get more content from some of the wildlife preservation accounts that I have followed, as I am currently interested in researching about animals that are in more danger of going extinct, or ones that are commonly misperceived.

On a slightly different note, I hope X realizes I'm not a bot soon, since I'm not able to see any of the tweets in the #39canimals tag but my own.

Until next time,

Alicia K
